Information handled on your device

WisePick stores phone check-in information, including the time of a check-in, the reason selected by the user, and a derived time-of-day category. It also stores app settings such as check-in choices, which choices count as Purposeful, notification and reflection preferences, appearance, setup state, and local unlock-monitor diagnostic status.

WisePick observes Android device-unlock events so it can decide when to display a check-in. WisePick does not read or capture the content of other apps, messages, contacts, browsing history, files, microphone, camera, or location.

How information is used

This information is processed locally to display daily and weekly insights, calculate Purposeful percentages and quick returns, schedule weekly reflections, and operate the user-selected unlock check-in feature.

Data transmission and sharing

WisePick does not transmit check-in information or settings to the developer or any third party. The app has no account system, backend, advertisements, analytics service, tracking SDK, or internet permission.

Permissions and device capabilities

Display over other apps is used only to show the WisePick check-in after eligible unlocks. Notification permission is used for the visible unlock-monitor notification and optional weekly reflection notifications. A foreground service listens for unlock events while monitoring is enabled. Boot-completed access allows user-enabled monitoring and reflection scheduling to resume after a restart or app update.

Retention and deletion

Check-in events older than 30 days are deleted when WisePick performs its local cleanup process. Users can delete all local check-in history at any time through Settings → Delete local check-in data. App settings remain on the device until changed or the app is uninstalled. WisePick excludes its check-in database and settings from Android cloud backup and device transfer.

See step-by-step deletion instructions.

Security

WisePick relies on Android’s application sandbox to protect locally stored information. Because WisePick does not transmit this information, it is not sent over a network.

Children

WisePick is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when WisePick’s features or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made.
